Happy Friday!
This weeks fun phrase is “Bring Home the Bacon”
Meaning: To arrive with something of value-a prize or one’s pay.
You have a choice of bacon here. It could be the “Dunmow flitch” a side of bacon awarded annually at Dunmow, England to any married couple who swore they lived together harmoniously during the past year; the custom was recorded as early as 1362. Or the bacon could be the greased pig that once figured so prominently in American fairs;if you caught it, you could take it home.
