” In The Dog House”

Its Fun Phrase Friday again!!
This weeks fun phrase is ” In The Dog House”

Meaning: In someones bad graces; being punished usually by
silence or scorn.

History: This may have arisen from a episode in James M. Barrie’s Peter Pan (1904) in which Mr. Darling treats Nana, there guardian dog and great favorite of their children, rather badly; the children are offended and go away, and Mr. Darling lives in the dog house as penance until they return.
